Sheepskin is considered by the medical profession to be hypoallergenic. It is also naturally antibacterial, repels dust mites and mildew, and is resistant to flame and static electricity, with natural lanolin keeping the wool warm and cuddly, making it an excellent choice for these teddy bears.

Cleaning instructions:

Sheepskin is an amazing material with self-cleaning properties. It’s naturally anti-bacterial and repels water – therefore to keep your flat bear in great condition, it does NOT need to be washed frequently and does NOT need to be washed before use. However, your bear will undoubtedly become a well-loved member of your family and may need the occasional clean to keep your flat bear soft, snuggly and soothing for years to come.

The sheepskin of your FLATOUTbear can be affected by washing and the texture of the wool may change after washing – so please take this into consideration before deciding to fully wash your bear. 

To spot clean:

• Mix wool wash with cool water (never use hot water)
• Dip a soft cloth in the water and gently clean any dirty marks.
• Rub gently until dirty marks are gone. Don’t saturate your bear.
• Gently pat the area with a dry cloth to remove excess moisture.
• Lay your bear flat out in the shade to dry completely.

To handwash:

• Mix wool wash with cool water (never use hot water)
• Gently move flat bear around in the water to dislodge dirt particles.
• Rub gently by hand until clean.
• Rinse with cold running water to remove detergent.
• Gently roll up in a towel to remove moisture. DO NOT WRING DRY.
• Place on a clean, dry towel and gently pull back into shape.
• Allow your bear to air dry naturally in the shade.
